taught by trainer and educational director, Yehudit Silver.
This unique course aims to enhance your Functional Integration skills.
The name “Under the Oak” is in honor of my teacher, Prof. Alon Talmi (in Hebrew, the name Alon means “oak”). Talmi
was one of Dr. Feldenkrais’ original thirteen trainees. I worked with Prof. Talmi for many years. His practical approach
to Functional Integration lessons posited that each lesson must include three phases: preparation, main subject, and
integration.
I have designed twenty four, structured lessons that demonstrate Prof. Talmi’s approach. Each lesson deals with one core
subject. Adhering to the theory and principles of the Feldenkrais Method, we look at how to clarify a function through
F.I. and practice this in different positions. The structure of the lesson is like a tree; the trunk is Prof. Talmi’s and the
branches include numerous and diverse possibilities.
Each session of the course includes:
• An Awareness Through Movement lesson that highlights the core subject
• A demonstration of the structured Functional Integration lesson
• Guided Functional Integration practice
